The Couple Behind it All
Amirah and Jarrell Cook are the husband-and-wife team behind Hosted by The Cooks. Bali is where it all started for them, the first destination they ever hosted a retreat in, and the place they called home for seven years before relocating to Bangkok. They know it the way you only know a place after actually living there.
Amirah leads the guest experience, planning, and hosting for every retreat, making sure every detail of your week is handled before you even think to ask. Jarrell, a contemporary visual artist, works alongside her on the ground, from logistics to the small touches that make a trip feel effortless rather than managed.
Together, they've hosted retreats across Bali, Morocco, Tokyo, Thailand, and Italy. Bringing the Bali Breakthrough Retreat back is, for them, exactly like coming home.

Settle In
You've made it. Check in, unpack, and take a breath. The villa is yours for the week. Explore every corner of it, claim your spot by the pool, and let the fact that you're actually here sink in.
Meet Your People
This is where the magic starts. Meet your host and the other women who said yes to this week. No awkward icebreakers. Just good energy and great conversation.
Welcome Dinner
Your first evening ends with a private chef dinner in the villa. Everything is taken care of. All you have to do is show up hungry.
New Spa, Same Luxury
This time, we're trying somewhere new. Still that world-famous Flower Bath energy, now paired with Amirah's own signature facial, added just for this trip.
Lunch With a View
Lunch this round is at a new favorite, one Amirah's been wanting to bring guests to for years. Of course, the delicious food comes with a breathtaking view.
Early Evening
Back at the villa, enjoy the pool, relax in your room, and indulge in a temporary henna design if you'd like. It's an ease into our week together filled with laughter and relaxation.
A Day Trip Down South
Today we head to Uluwatu, a completely different side of Bali than anything you've seen with us before, dramatic clifftop views over the ocean.
Sightseeing Lunch
We'll explore the tallest statue in Bali, have lunch with amazing views, and get to see the island in a way most cannot. A fun day of exploring the beauty the island is known for.
Kecak Fire Dance
As the sun sets, we watch the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple, hypnotic, dramatic, unlike anything else on the island.
Yoga Class
Start the morning grounded, breathing, present. Consider this your reset button before the second half of the week.
A Hands On cooking Class
In the afternoon, a private cooking class. Learn a few Balinese dishes and bring the recipes home with you.
Down Time
Enjoy some time in the beautiful villa relaxing with the other women with an intentionally early evening to ensure plenty of time to relax and reset.
Floating Breakfast
Start the day exactly how you'd imagine paradise starting: breakfast served to you, floating, in our private pool at the villa. Photographer on hand, an unbelievable moment to capture.
Beach Club Day
The day closes out at a VIP beach club. Comfortable loungers, delicious food, flowing drinks, and an incredible view. Sink in and watch the sun set over the water like it's putting on a show just for you.
Do What You Want!
This is your day. No schedule, no plan, just whatever you want it to be. Sleep in. Swim. Shop. Book another spa treatment. Do absolutely nothing at all.
Explore More, Or Not
Want something arranged? We'll make it happen. Private excursion, salon appointment, another round at the spa, just say the word. Or, simply relax in the villa, order in takeout and do nothing.
All White Finale Dinner
Tonight, dress in your best white. One final private chef dinner together under the stars to close out the most unforgettable week.
One Last Brunch
Checkout comes with a brunch to send you off right. One last look around the villa, then a ride to the airport with a week's worth of memories you'll be talking about for years.

We only share photos of the exact villa with guests who have completed their reservation, but below you'll see villas from our past Bali trips to get an idea of what you can expect. We select the luxury accommodations ourselves to ensure they live up to our standards.

Yes, payment plans are available on both single and double occupancy, spread across monthly payments. Payments are automatic for reduced stress with no late fees.
Yes! You will each need to book a double occupancy room and you'll share a bedroom and bathroom in our private villa. You can choose between a king bed or two twins. If you are traveling solo and want a double occupancy room, you will be paired with another woman.
Yes, the Bali Breakthrough Retreat is an all-women's retreat. If you'd rather travel with your partner, check out the Bali Baecation instead, built for couples wanting the same level of care in Bali.
Beyond the retreat cost, plan for lunches ($8-15 per meal), cocktails ($5-10 per drink), free day activities ($25-75 depending on what you choose), shopping, and gratuities for staff. A general budget of $300-500 for the week covers most people comfortably, not including flights.
All payments are final, no refunds. If you need to cancel more than 90 days before the retreat, your payments can be applied toward a future trip with Hosted By The Cooks within 12-months of your cancelled trip.
