The Bali Baecation is a week built for the two of you: real rest, real romance, and a room in a private villa in the same place Amirah and Jarrell called home for seven years. Traveling with us has always meant traveling like family, and this time, that means your person too.

The Couple Behind it All
Amirah and Jarrell Cook are the husband-and-wife team behind Hosted by The Cooks. Bali is where it all started for them, the first destination they ever hosted a retreat in, and the place they called home for seven years before relocating to Bangkok. They know it the way you only know a place after actually living there.
Amirah leads the guest experience, planning, and hosting for every retreat, making sure every detail of your week is handled before you even think to ask. Jarrell, a contemporary visual artist, works alongside her on the ground, from logistics to the small touches that make a trip feel effortless rather than managed.
Together, they've hosted retreats across Bali, Morocco, Tokyo, Thailand, and Italy. Bringing the Bali Breakthrough Retreat back is, for them, exactly like coming home.

Settle In
You've made it, together. Check in, unpack, and take a breath. The villa is yours for the week, private pool included, so claim your spot and let it sink in that this is really happening.
Meet Your People
This is where the magic starts. Meet your host and the other couples who will become friends this week. No awkward icebreakers. Just good energy and great conversation.
Welcome Dinner
Your first night ends with a group dinner alongside the other couples on the trip. A private chef, good food, and the start of a week's worth of new friends.
The Full Treatment
A full Balinese spa experience, done as a couple, complete with the world-famous Flower Bath. Let the trip melt whatever you both carried here right off of you.
Lunch With a View
From there, it's lunch at one of my absolute favorite restaurants on the island. Good food, better company.
Early Evening
Back at the villa, enjoy the pool, relax in your room, and indulge in a temporary henna design if you'd like. It's an ease into our week together filled with laughter and relaxation.
The Bali Swing
Feel the rush on one of Bali's most iconic experiences. This is the moment everyone's phone comes out. Choose between the private swing, a bed swing, biplane and more. With breathtaking views, and plenty to explore, this is everyone's favorite stop.
Coffee + Tea Tasting
Learn the history and process of making the most expensive coffee in the world. Taste test different teas and coffees, shop for your own, surrounded by lush rice fields on a day with a private photographer to capture every moment.
Date Night Challenge Pt I
Tonight, one of you takes the lead. Pick the plan, and our team helps make it happen, a night away from the group, just the two of you.
Morning Movement
Start the morning grounded, together, before the day gets going, yoga, pilates, a walk, whatever fits the group when the day comes.
Shop the Local Market
From there, wander a local market for the kind of finds you can only bring home from Bali. We'll keep a running list of souvenirs and dream purchases and hunt them down together in a fun negotiation style shopping excursion.
Date Night Challenge Pt II
Tonight, it's the other partner's turn to plan the evening. Same deal, our team helps pull it off, a night away from the group, just the two of you.
Floating Breakfast
Start the day exactly how you'd imagine paradise starting: breakfast served or two, floating, in our private pool at the villa. Photographer on hand, an unbelievable moment to capture.
The South of the Island
From there, we head to the south of the island, a completely different side of Bali than you've seen all week. New views, new energy, one more reason this trip never feels the same twice.
Beach Club Day
The day closes out at a VIP beach club. Comfortable loungers, delicious food, flowing drinks, and an incredible view. Sink in and watch the sun set over the water like it's putting on a show just for you.
Do What You Want!
This day is entirely yours, both of yours. Sleep in, swim, wander, book another spa treatment, or do absolutely nothing at all.
Explore More, Or Not
Want something arranged? We'll make it happen. Private excursion, salon appointment, another round at the spa, just say the word. Or, simply relax in the villa, order in takeout and do nothing.
All White Finale Dinner
Tonight closes the week with the whole group together, a private chef dinner under the stars to send everyone home right.
One Last Brunch
Checkout comes with a brunch to send you off right. One last look around the villa, then a ride to the airport with a week's worth of memories you'll be talking about for years.

We only share photos of the exact villa with guests who have completed their reservation, but below you'll see villas from our past Bali trips to get an idea of what you can expect. We select the luxury accommodations ourselves to ensure they live up to our standards.

Yes, payment plans are available on both single and double occupancy, spread across monthly payments for a small fee. Payments are automatic for reduced stress with no late fees.
Some days do include quite a bit of walking. Particularly the Bali swing day. However, we always offer time for breaks and schedule down time throughout the day.
Yes, the Bali Baecation is an all-couples retreat. If you'd rather travel solo, check out the Bali Breakthrough Retreat instead, built exclusively for women wanting the same level of care in Bali.
Beyond the retreat cost, plan for lunches ($8-15 per meal), cocktails ($5-10 per drink), free day activities ($25-75 depending on what you choose), shopping, and gratuities for staff. A general budget of $300-500 for the week covers most people comfortably, not including flights.
All payments are final, no refunds. If you need to cancel more than 90 days before the retreat, your payments can be applied toward a future trip with Hosted By The Cooks within 12-months of your cancelled trip.
