Tokyo is our favorite city in the entire world, and there's a reason for that. It's the closest thing to visiting another planet without ever leaving this one. Neon streets, bullet trains, vending machines on every corner, a city that feels genuinely futuristic in a way nowhere else does. Tokyoland is a week built for a group that's ready for real adventure centered around having fun. Everything's planned and coordinated by Hosted by The Cooks. Your group shows up, we handle everything from there.

Exclusive experiences

Go-karts through the streets of Tokyo. A hands-on sushi-making class. A matcha-making class. A full day at Tokyo Disneyland to embrace your childlike joy. Temple visits, ramen eating, and a real taste of Japanese culture woven throughout the week.

THE COOKS: MEET YOUR HOSTS

Amirah and Jarrell Cook

The Couple Behind it All

Amirah and Jarrell Cook are the husband-and-wife team behind Hosted by The Cooks. Jarrell is a fine artist who has painted murals in countries around the world, and that same eye for detail shows up in everything he brings to a trip, from the vendors he sources to the guides he designs for every group.

Amirah brings the guest experience together, the planning, the pacing, the small touches that make a week feel effortless instead of managed.

Together, they've hosted trips across Bali, Morocco, Tokyo, Thailand, and Italy, curating each one around the specific feeling that destination is best known for.

Our itinerary For The week

Sunday - Welcome to Tokyo!

Settle In

You've made it. Check in, unpack, and take a breath. The hotel is home for the week. Explore every corner of it, unpack, and let the fact that you're actually here sink in.

Meet Your People

This is where the magic starts. Meet your host and the other guest who said yes to this week. No awkward icebreakers. Just good energy and great conversation.

Welcome Dinner

Your first evening ends with a group dinner. Try different or familiar flavors for your first meal in Tokyo.

Monday - Japanese Culture Day

Sightseeing

Tour through Tokyo's most iconic landmarks and shrines, including a stop at one of the city's most breathtaking temples, a first real taste of the culture beyond the city lights.

Matcha Making Class

A fun matcha-making class. Hands-on, low-key, and genuinely fun, not overly ceremonial.

Ramen in Japan

Enjoy a group ramen lunch together, a proper introduction to Japanese food culture on day one.

Tuesday: Go-Karts & Shopping

Go-Karts in Shibuya

Go-karts through the streets of Tokyo, iconic, ridiculous fun. You will need your international driver's license beforehand. So, be sure to get one from your local AAA office. Find a location here.

Exploring on Foot

An afternoon exploring a cool Tokyo neighborhood, vintage shops, cafes, local energy. Personal shopping and specialty stops are a la carte and at your own pace.

Vintage Shopping

Due to knockoffs being illegal in Japan, their vintage shopping is full of authentic gems at all price points. From designer bags to unique Kit Kat flavors, there's something for everyone in this shopping experience.

Wednesday - Sushi & Temples

Hands-On Sushi Class

A hands-on sushi-making class where you make sashimi, the traditional Japanese version, as well as the rolls more popular in America.

Temple Visit

A stop at one of Tokyo's most beautiful temples, with the option to rent a kimono for a photoshoot right there.

An Evening to Explore

The rest of the evening is free, eat, wander, or just take it easy.

Thursday - Tokyo Disneyland

An Early Start

Head to the park early to make the most of the day ahead.

A Full Day at Disneyland

Tickets fully coordinated by us. A completely different Disneyland experience from anything in the States. Meals in the park are at guests' own expense.

End the Night with Fireworks

The night closes out with the park's nightly parade and fireworks, the kind of ending that makes the whole day feel like a movie.

Friday - Free Day

Do What You Want!

This is your day. No schedule, no plan, just whatever you want it to be. Sleep in. Swim. Shop. Book a spa treatment. Do absolutely nothing at all.

Explore More, Or Not

Want something arranged? We'll help make it happen and list a few suggestions. Private excursion, salon appointment, a day at the spa. Or, simply relax in the hotel, order room service and do nothing.

All White Finale Dinner

Tonight, dress in your best white. One final group dinner together to close out the most unforgettable week.

Saturday - Departure

One Last Breakfast

Checkout comes with a breakfast to send you off right. Afterwards, easily schedule your airport transfer using Uber, the airport shuttle (if running) or a local taxi.

Checkout @ 11:00 AM

Before you book your flight home, look for one that departs later in the day. No reason to rush from breakfast straight to the airport when you could squeeze a few more hours out of Tokyo first.

Staying Longer?

Not ready to say goodbye yet? Book your transport on to your next destination simply using Uber or a local taxi.

There was a great balance of exploration and chill time. The villa was beautiful and the meals were divine. There was laughter, there were tears, and lots of Beyonce. I couldn't ask for more.
